In March 2011 fortune favored me to go on a hiking trip into the enormity of Glen Canyon, just below the Little Rockies. Trust me, I want to go back. The endless sea of twisting, folding, undulating rock…the deep blue shock of sky…the enormous sense of being so small against the immeasurable scope of the land…oh, it was breathtaking beyond description.
I snapped this shot who knows where exactly. It captured my sense of the land engulfing the people who still sallied forth, trusting their guide and following their desire to experience places very few humans will ever tread. Also, it shows off the glorious simplicity of tangerine-colored rocks against a cobalt sky and puffball clouds. That’s a visual combo hard to beat.
