Another stormy light day here. Makes for pretty pictures.
This one is at the start of a mini slot canyon (very mini) barely anyone know about or goes to. Not far off the highway, up a dirt road, around a bend or two in a wash. There’s also a cool old petrified log back in this same wash, as photographed in a previous post. I happened to be wandering back here the other day with Pippin, and the sun came out at just the right moments to illuminate the wash, basalt rock, and beginnings of the slot in the foreground and the Velvet Ridge in the background. I took the opportunity to capture yet again another stunning view. This place always makes me smile with happiness. Such natural beauty is rare and precious, and so deserving of its protected status. But that might a political post…for another day.
