I took this on a bright day in November. It’s at the Cockscomb, a rock formation outside the tiny town of Teasdale. The light was brilliant, the sky deep blue, and snow added a snap to my pictures that day.
This is a fun, locally-known little area to hike, rock climb, scramble, and just get away without needing to drive too far out of town. All you have to do is pop back behind these rocks (south), and you’re wandering an area filled with sagebrush, pinyons and junipers, jumping cactus, and the intriguing lure of the sandstone jumbles just beneath the flanks of Boulder Mountain.
